The Town and Gown Council was founded in 1982 for the purpose of developing stronger relationships between the University of Central Florida and the community that it serves.
The purpose of this council shall be to serve as an extension of the University of Central Florida, acting as a liaison for communication between the university and the community.
The council is a community-based organization. All council members serve as goodwill ambassadors for the University of Central Florida.
